Colorful Qormai

A seamstress sweeps pieces of colorful cloth thrown from the second floor by a blacksmith’s wife. Taking her neighbor's “trash” she sews a quilt (Qormai) in an act of hope and possibility.

About Khadim Hussain Byhname

Khadim Hussain Byhname (b. 1993) grew up in a culturally rich household in Ghazni, Afghanistan. His early interest in cinema led him to pursue a career in filmmaking. He recently graduated from Kabul University and established the “Image of Thought” group. Over the past three years, he has made nine short films, most of which were student films that have been screened in film festivals in Afghanistan and abroad to international audiences.
