Diana Derycz-Kessler is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Recording School. These higher education schools bridge the gap between dreams and the reality of a career in media arts, teaching hands-on programs using the latest technologies. In addition to her educational activities, Diana serves as manager and general counsel to various investment companies that are co-owned with her husband Paul Kessler, a financier. She and Paul invest in a variety of sectors in addition to education.
Born to a Mexican mother and a Ukrainian father, Diana spent her childhood in both California and Mexico. Early on, Diana was a fashion model in New York and Boston while attending school. For close to a decade after school, Diana worked as an attorney in the Latin American oil and gas sector through offices in New York, Latin America and California - including her own consulting practice in Los Angeles. Her subsequent investment activities led her to her current role as co-owner, CEO and President of The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Angeles Recording School. Through those activities, Diana became an avid promoter of young filmmaking talent and has produced and executive produced independent feature films.
Diana is a graduate of Harvard Law School (JD), where she was classmates with President Barack Obama. Before attending law school, she graduated from Stanford University (MA), and completed her undergrad at the University of California, Los Angeles. Diana is the recipient of multiple awards and serves on the boards of a variety of companies. Diana and her husband Paul have five children. Her interests are writing, reading, exercising, traveling and most importantly spending time with her husband and family.
