Women’s Voices from the Muslim World: A Short Film Festival sought unfiltered, honest information to fill the void left by traditional news, media, and art sources. The films raised awareness about the status of women’s rights around the world and the work being done to expand these rights and helped to erode misconceptions about the “Muslim woman” as defined by interested social, political, and corporate bodies.
