About the Filmmaker

Films in our archives made by “Anonymous” are at the request of filmmakers in fear of government or societal reprisal for broaching taboo subjects. While WVN resists censorship and other obstacles to free expression by facilitating a space for our filmmakers’ subversive voices to be heard, we uphold their safety above all else.

Film Festival Events Line-Up.

MARCH 11: 11AM PST, our online film festival kick-off event will feature a guest speaker, discussion on the power of film in advancing women's rights, & an introduction of the winning films.
MARCH 14: Time TBD, our filmmaker networking event will be open to pre-selected and winning filmmakers from the 2021 Women’s Voices Now Online Film Festival.
MARCH 25: 9:30AM PST, our parallel event at the 65th Commission on the Status of Women, “Films for Women's Rights: Reframing the Narrative”, will be broadcast via Facebook live. Check our social media channels for updates.
