A film by the Malaysian Aids Council (Malaysia/2009/2:16).
Leila is a Muslim woman, a single mother with four children, and lives with HIV. She was infected with HIV by her former husband, a drug user. For two years, treatment and medication remained unaffordable to Leila. Then in 2005 treatment and medication for HIV and AIDS were made free of charge in Malaysia. See how Leila has benefited from this change and how she gives back by working for the Treatment Care & Support Department of the Malaysian AIDS Council.
