A film by Celia Eslamieh Shomal (Iran & Netherlands/2013/1:45).
"Vomit II" is an experimental film that explores the effects of sexual harassment and how chronic sexual harassment causes psychological effects similar to rape victims—depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and/or stress. Female victims of sexual harassment become the target of retaliation and backlash. They begin to feel angry or violent towards themselves instead of the perpetrator. Onlookers remain indifferent or even laugh, leaving women in Muslim society feeling more ashamed of their bodies. A Muslim woman is only given the respect she craves when she reports and condemns immodest women, turns against her sisters, and supports a misogynist culture that blames the female victims.
