Los Angeles-based non-governmental organization Women's Voices Now (WVN), initiated to create awareness about women's issues in the Middle East as part of the Global Tour, will be in Istanbul on September 25 and 28.
Conferences, "Empire of justice to request the honor to redefine and Turkey" to be discussed.
Marmara University Goztepe Campus on September 25, will be held on September 28 Karaköy Minerva Han, Prof. conferences. Dr. Bu Durakbaşa, Asst. Assoc. Akpinar and Dr. Aylin. Zeynep Beşpınar in Turkey as well as leading academics and activists to talk to Women's Studies.
Prior to the speeches, "In the Morning" and "Saturday Mothers of Turkey" as two short films will be screened.
Conferences Women's Voices of Turkey, Marmara University, Sabancı University Women's and Gender Studies in collaboration with the Forum and the Saturday Mothers, "Empire of justice to request the honor to redefine and Turkey" will focus on the themes.
What is Women's Voices Now?
Women's Voices Now focuses on Muslim-majority societies, women's freedom of expression through film, and discussions aimed at encouraging them to strengthen the non-profit organization.
WVN Director Heidi Basch-Harod:
We want to create change and women working in the public sphere, and to establish a link between women who carry the potential to create change. We want women have to be better acquainted with each other and to show their daughters and sons that women are worthy of better education, of being in decision-making positions.
WVN independent short film festivals and film depicting the struggles of women in daily life and creating panel discussions on themes presented, they are advocates of women themselves, to establish a connection and dialogue is a plartform.
WVN, 2013 world tour, in 2011, the first film festival organized by the "Muslim World Women's Voices" in Jerusalem, the local debate on improving what was sent to the films. (MC)
