Deep in Brazil where law and justice require first and last name, the struggle for a piece of land becomes a matter of life or death. Peasants in the South and Southeast of Pará have to fight and survive for a piece of land.

About Julia Mariano

Júlia Mariano starts her career directing the German feature documentary Gegen den Strom, exhibited in Kassel DokFest 2008. In 2010 she directs the short documentary Project 68, winner of the 39th Internationales Filmfestival Bahias amongst others awards. Also that year she directs Symphony, winner of Rumos Itaú 2010 and in 2014 Julia directs the multi-award winning film Threatened about the rural conflicts in the brazilian province of Pará. She is a producer and a screenwriter for the documentaries Passinho Dance Off and Fresh Cutz, both winners of Rio de Janeiro Int’l Film Festival.
