Women’s Voices Now is seeking a Social Media Manager


ABOUT US:

Women’s Voices Now (WVN) uses film to drive social change that advances women’s and girls’ rights globally. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and based in Los Angeles, California.

COMPENSATION:
Part-Time (12 hours per week). Pay rate range of $31 – $34/hour, commensurate with experience. We are seeking to fill the position by early February.

 

REPORTS TO:
Executive Director

POSITION HOURS & LOCATION:
This position is mostly remote with 3-4 in-person events through the year in the Los Angeles area. Work hours are flexible and allow for self-management of time, although agreed upon core weekday business hours will be established to facilitate staff communication.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Contributes to furtherance of the mission of the organization by originating, developing, implementing, and evaluating social media campaigns, programs, and initiatives. Ensures content, imagery, and messaging are aligned with the organization’s brand and reputation and are consistently positive and reflective of leadership’s goals and objectives. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop social media campaigns that publicize the activities of the organization, its programs, and goals. Oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content that aligns with the organization’s brand voice and values.
  • Develop and maintain WVN brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging, visual aesthetics, and brand positioning, in alignment with WVN Editorial Policies
  • Establish and enforce brand guidelines throughout all marketing collateral, communications, and touchpoints.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (derive best times for publishing from each platform) and other metrics for social media campaigns
  • Update social media content across all channels.
  • Monitor social media channels for brand mentions and respond to inquiries or comments promptly.
  • Engage with internal and external followers through timely and meaningful interactions (stories, cross posting, DMs, etc).
  • Participate in quarterly check-ins with Digital Growth Strategist and Executive Director to track key metrics, analyze data, evaluate campaigns, review best practices, recommend new strategies,etc…(some quarterly data management required)
  • Establish relationships with social media influencers to develop a strong network.
  • Work closely and collaborate with Digital Marketing Growth Strategist
  • Observe and report to management social media trends. (Regularly analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement in social media performance.)
  • Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and Digital Growth Strategist
  • Follow protocols for maintaining and organizing digital asset management throughout Canva and Google Drive.

 

STAFF OVERSIGHT:

No staff management. May engage and manage freelancers with approval of Executive Director

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adept in using Google Suite, Canva, Later, Google Drive Fluency and Management, Adobe Suite. Open to learning new tools, including Opus AI and other disruptive tools and strategies. 
  • Three or more years of previous content and social media marketing experience. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience related to the usage of websites, advertising, social media, event marketing, and current marketing industry trends. 
  • Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Youtube.
  • Not-for-profit, media, and educational programs background helpful both with youth and adults.
    • Passion for and dedication to the advancement of girls’ and women’s rights 
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and digital communication skills, as well as analytical skills. 
  • Adept at juggling multiple tasks and quickly adjusting to changing priorities with exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • High degree of creative thinking and ability to appeal to broad and diverse audiences. 
  • Not required but definitely helpful: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 2-3 strong references.
