A Night of Girls’ Voices Now 2024 Films
Join us for a screening of the youth-made documentary films created during the 2024 Girls’ Voices Now program. This film screening is a celebration of the 10 girls who graduated from our intensive summer training program, and will showcase their social-change films on sustainability, representation, and access to resources. Following the screening, we will hold a Q&A session with the filmmakers as well as activism activity sessions including crafting mood boards, a Polaroid photo booth, and conversations about the importance of social impact through media and creative storytelling.

“Colliding Forces” Screening & Reception
The Women’s Voices Now Film Festival is an annual global women’s rights documentary film festival supporting emerging women filmmakers creating films that drive social change around the globe. The Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize is named for the Founder of Women’s Voices Now, a visionary philanthropist, and Los Angeles-based art collector and dealer. At this event we will also mark the 11-year anniversary of Leslie’s passing and celebrate his legacy, which includes Women’s Voices Now.
This year’s Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize winner: COLLIDING FORCES: MOTHERS IN BALLET, is a documentary film by Eliza Schroeder (UK). The film enchantingly tells the story of five principal ballerinas, from around the world, intimately portraying how they navigate the competing and conflicting demands of their profession and motherhood.

“Screams Before Silence” Screening & Reception
Women’s Voices Now invites you to an exclusive screening and panel discussion of the documentary “Screams Before Silence,” a powerful film uncovering the atrocities of sexual violence committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The screening will take place and is hosted by the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles on July 15th.
This 60-minute documentary, presented by Sheryl Sandberg, features firsthand accounts from survivors, released hostages, first responders, and experts. It is a vital testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a call to action against these overlooked crimes.
