Alauddin’s Girls Synopsis

Prolonged war and violence have left too many children of Afghanistan orphaned. Sisterhood thrives among the young women and girls of an orphanage in Kabul, a necessity for coping with the ongoing and all-encompassing tragedy that surrounds them.

Alauddin’s Girls was an official selection of the 2011 WVN Online Film Festival.

MARCH 11: 11AM PST, our online film festival kick-off event will feature a guest speaker, discussion on the power of film in advancing women's rights, & an introduction of the winning films.
MARCH 14: Time TBD, our filmmaker networking event will be open to pre-selected and winning filmmakers from the 2021 Women’s Voices Now Online Film Festival.
MARCH 25: 9:30AM PST, our parallel event at the 65th Commission on the Status of Women, “Films for Women's Rights: Reframing the Narrative”, will be broadcast via Facebook live. Check our social media channels for updates.
