More from the Filmmaker

Destiny is an amazingly poised young woman activist. Destiny’s vision and passion make her a powerful advocate for her community’s rights to environmental justice. By profiling a strong, young African American woman leader, we have made a film that is all about women’s rights. Destiny organized her community to prevent construction of the nation’s largest incinerator in her Baltimore neighborhood less than one mile from her high school, and successfully fought for her community.

In 2016 Destiny was awarded the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize, often known as the Green Nobel, for North America.
