Synopsis

In north Sudan, Nubian village women celebrate the completion of their private homes with friends and neighbors who  help the woman of the house decorate her home with symbols of protection, prosperity, and beauty.

Inscriptions on the Rosewater was an official selection of the 2011 WVN Online Film Festival.

About the Filmmaker

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, 1966, Salah Elmur is a visual artist and filmmaker. He has directed and produced six short films, which include documentaries and experimental films and many of his films have screened at film festivals internationally.
