Synopsis

In the North Indian state of Haryana, Khap Panchayats (caste councils) condone honor killings of men and women who break local code forbidding the marriage of two members of the same clan – a practice that violates the constitutional rights guaranteed to all citizens of India.

Whose Honor? was an official selection of the 2011 WVN Online Film Festival.

MARCH 11: 11AM PST, our online film festival kick-off event will feature a guest speaker, discussion on the power of film in advancing women's rights, & an introduction of the winning films.
MARCH 14: Time TBD, our filmmaker networking event will be open to pre-selected and winning filmmakers from the 2021 Women’s Voices Now Online Film Festival.
